Langtang Valley Trekking

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
The Langtang valley populated by Sherpa and Tamang families, lies to the northwest of Kathmandu valley, and is over shadowed to the north by the high peak of Langtang Lirung (23,756ft) on Tibetan border. To the south of Langtang area unit the holy lakes of Gosainkund scene of a colorful competition every summer, but equally beautiful in spring and autumn which we visit our return journey from Langtang.

Langtang Valley Trek TREKKING: We begin our walk after a drive to Dhunch or Syabru Besi through Tamang settlements with fine views of the Trishuli valley. The trekking route into Langtang takes us through a varied landscape of evergreen forest and speeding streams of Ghora Tavela Next we come to Langtang Village itself, and higher still Kyangjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery at 12,000 ft set in a bowl like valley encircled by snow peaks.Here we will visit the native cheese factory build.

ARRIVAL KATHMANDU:
Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival / 1350m
On your arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be met by our representative who will take you to the hotel forthe night. O/N at Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing:
After having breakfast, Your guide will take you full day city sightseeing and evening meet with our trekking guide for the next day program.s.O/N at Kathmandu.

TREKKING:
DAY 03: DRIVE TO SYABRU BESI VIA DHUNCHE BAZAR.
You are driven to Sybru Bensi from Kathmandu (8 hours drive) . O/N in Sybru Bensi.

DAY 04. TREK TO LAMA HOTEL
After crossing the suspension bridge the trek proceeds through the trees where langur monkey’s frolic and takes you to Doman (1680m). The trail then makes a steep climb over a rocky ridge to Paira Lodge (1810m) and further the route climbs gently to Bamboo Lodge (1960m).Climbing steeply the trail will get to Rimche (2400m)and then to Lama Hotel. O/N in Lama Hotel.

DAY 05: TREK TO LANGTANG VILLAGE
From Lama Hotel the trail climbs through a forest of hemlock, oaks, maples and rhododendron observing glimpses of Langtang Lirung, reaches to Gumanchok(2800m) and then climbs to Ghora Tabela (2970m) after which it descends to Thangshyap (3140m). The trail further climbs to Langtang, which is the head quarter for Langtang National Park. O/N in Langtang Valley.

DAY 06: TREK TO KYANZING GOMPA
Hire a horse for sight seeing in Langtang Valley. Youcan hike up the moraine north of Kyanjin Gompa (4300m).From here you have spectacular views of Langtang Lirung,Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji (6575m) and the foot of the huge Lirung glacier. You are so close it feels like you can touch them. Back to Langtang. O/N at Langtang.

DAY 07: EXPLORE KYANZING VILLAGE
From Langtang Valley the trail climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu (3640m). Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a view point where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic ice fall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Kinshung. Then the trail descends to Kyanjin Gompa. O/N in Kyanjin Gompa.

DAY 08: TREK TO LAMA HOTEL
Trek back to Lama Hotel. O/N in Lama Hotel.

DAY 09: TREK TO SYABRU BESI
Trek back to Syabru. O/N in Hotel.

DAY 10: DRIVE TO KATHMANDU
Drive to Kathmandu

DEPARTURE:
Day 11: Free Day at Kathmandu
Day 12: Final Departure

HOW TO TRAVEL LANGTANG
From Kathmandu you can reach Langtang by public bus, private mini-bus and 4WD Jeep. A private transportation will make the journey to Dhunche in approx 10 hours under normal conditions. The public bus leaves early every morning at Gongabu Bus Park (Machha Pokhari) for Dhunche and Syabru Bensi an hour more. It is only 118 kms to Dhunche but its a slow and bumpy road. During the summer monsoon period the road may be affected by landslide, particularly in Dhunche.

SEASON:
You can trek any time in Langtang, but the monsoon season (June to August) can be very wet with the mountains hidden clouds. In winter it is cold at night but clear and sunny during the day, and there may be now on the trail. (FEB-MAY) and Autumn (SEPT- NOV) are the most popular trekking season in Nepal.
