About Mt Kailash & Holy Lake Mansarovar
Mt Kailash is 6714m high and with its four sheer walls and snow capped peak is an awe-inspiring sight. Like a huge diamond, It is centered among peaks like an eight petalled lotus. Geographically it is important too - from it flow four great rivers. the Karnali, the indus, the Sutlej and the Brahmaputra, which drains the vast Tibtan Plateau. However it is most famous for its relegious significance. Kailash is an object of devout pilgrimages for buddhist and Hindus who believe it is the abode of the gods.

Holy Manasarovar Lake is situated approximately 30 kms from Mt Kailash and is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. This beautiful and sacred lake is an important pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Hindus, as it is believed that bathing in the holy water will cleanse one's sins. With views to Gurla Mandata 7728m this is a place of serene beauty. On the northwest shore of the lake is the pictureque Chiu monastery.

Lhasa to Kailash Tour Trip Highlights
On this 14 days Kailash package, First we fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa and spend 3 over nights for visiting the wonderful sights of this facinating city Lhasa including the famous Patala Palace. Leaving Lhasa, we xplore the ancient towns of Gyantse and Shigatse after crossing the beautiful Yamdrok Tso Lake. Driving across the hypotic landscape of the Tibetan Plateau brings us to Lake Manasarovar, Our Journey continue to Mt Kailash where you complete a Kora around this beautiful mountain. A three-day trek (Parikrama or Kora) around Mount Kailash over a 5630 meter Drolma La (pass), clockwise for Buddhists and Hindus, and anti-clockwise followers of the ancient Bon religion, is said to erase the sins of a lifetime. Finally, we cross the southern Nepalese border and returning to Kathmandu.

Chinese Visa & Tibet Permit Information
All foreigners other than Chinese and Tibetan need to obtain Tibet travel permit to enter Tibet. Tibet visa called Tibet permit. It is also called invitation letter. It is issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau at Lhasa. Tourist / foreigners can not apply their Tibet travel permit themselves. Tibet visa or Tibet permit comes in paper, not in your passport.
